Armed Security Services
Highly Trained Officers Dedicated to Safety and De-escalation
Keeping your business, property, or event truly secure requires more than a watchful eye—it calls for professionals equipped to respond effectively under pressure. IronWatch’s armed security services deliver peace of mind by combining advanced firearms training with on-the-ground experience in conflict resolution.
Our approach centers on rigorous training and a firm understanding of legal responsibilities. We believe in proactivity—staying alert to potential risks before they turn into emergencies. With a deep background in MOAB (management of aggressive behavior) and CPI (crisis prevention and intervention), our guards focus on de-escalation whenever possible, ensuring that force is only used as a last resort.
When unarmed monitoring just isn’t enough, armed security offers an added layer of defense. IronWatch’s commitment to training, de-escalation, and legal compliance means you’ll have a team that’s both prepared to act decisively and dedicated to using force only when absolutely necessary.
Carrying a firearm is an immense responsibility—one our guards do not take lightly. They know that drawing a weapon is a serious action with real-world consequences, and that the lawful use of force demands both good judgment and a thorough understanding of applicable regulations. By insisting on continuous education, IronWatch creates a culture where armed officers operate ethically and consistently in high-pressure situations.
How do IronWatch officers stay up to date on training?
We conduct regular sessions that include firearms practice, scenario-based drills, and de-escalation techniques. Our internal Range Safety Officers and leadership ensure training standards meet or exceed industry requirements.
What’s the difference between armed guards and SCOP officers in Virginia?
SCOP (Special Conservator of the Peace) officers hold powers similar to law enforcement in specific jurisdictions. They possess the ability to run radar, pull over vehicles, toggle lights or sirens, issue DUIs, and more. Standard armed guards, by contrast, cannot exercise these law enforcement powers unless they are directly on the property but are still rigorously prepared for higher-risk environments.
How do you handle liability if a guard uses force?
IronWatch maintains comprehensive insurance and requires strict adherence to protocols governing the use of force. Our officers are well-versed in Virginia’s state and local regulations, minimizing liability for both our clients and our team.
